Operations and Business Development Manager
Job Description
Operations and business development manager needed for pallet racking sales ,installation and material handling solutions company in the Stone Mountain area. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in competitive markets and can drive growth while managing the full scope of front of the house operations. From strategic business development to technical design, project execution, and team leadership.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the sales and project management team to pursue new business opportunities and deepen existing customer relationships in a competitive market. Drive revenue growth through proactive business development, relationship building, and strategic pricing.
- Design warehouse layouts and racking systems that maximize customer value and space utilization with hands on project management.
- Develop and execute procurement strategy for both new and used pallet racking inventory. Source and negotiate warehouse decommissioning opportunities, assess equipment value and condition, and make strategic buy/keep decisions that maintain competitive pricing advantages.
- Manage inventory flow and coordination with warehouse operations to optimize stock levels
- Navigate volatile steel pricing and market uncertainty by implementing smart margin management, flexible sourcing strategies, and identifying opportunities where competitors can't compete.
- Balance quick-turn component sales with complex multi-phase warehouse installations, ensuring profitability across all project sizes while maintaining service standards that differentiate from competitors.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven ability to drive business development and take market share in competitive conditions. Track record of building customer relationships and closing technical sales.
- Experience in warehouse layout design, space optimization, or material handling systems
- Demonstrated leadership managing and motivating sales teams or project managers in technical or industrial environments.
- Strategic thinker who understands margin management, pricing strategy, and how to remain profitable when input costs fluctuate.
- Project management capability with ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
- Experience evaluating and procuring equipment inventory
