CNC Laser Operator
Job Description
Well established and growing manufacturer in Newnan has an immediate need for an experienced Laser Cutting Operator. 4 day work week! 2nd shift | Monday-Thursday 5:00pm-3:30am - will train on first for a couple of weeks
What You'll Do:
- Set up, and operate CNC laser cutting equipment (fiber or CO2)
- Select and adjust cutting parameters (power, speed, gas type, pierce settings) by material type and thickness
- Install and align nozzles, lenses, and consumables
- Load, verify, and position correct material grade and thickness
- Monitor operations and make real-time parameter adjustments
- Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and edge quality using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Verify compliance with engineering drawings and tolerances; document non-conformances
- Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and consumable replacement
- Troubleshoot machine alarms and basic mechanical or software issues
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of CNC laser cutting operation experience
- Ability to read 2D mechanical drawings and DXF files
- Knowledge of cutting parameters across various material types and thicknesses
- Experience with fiber or CO2 laser equipment
- Familiarity with GD&T (preferred)
