CNC Brake Press Operator
Job Description
Well established, and growing manufacturer in Newnan has an immediate need for an experienced Brake Press Operator. 4 day work week! 2nd shift 5pm-3:30am Mon-Thurs. Will train on 1st for a couple of weeks 7am-5:30pm
$20-$23/hour
What You'll Do:
- Set up, and operate CNC press brake equipment
- Interpret engineering drawings, flat patterns, and bend deductions
- Select tooling (punches, dies, V-openings) based on material type and thickness
- Calculate bend allowances, bend deductions, and K-factor values
- Set back gauges, ram depth, and bend sequence parameters
- Perform first-piece setup and validation
- Inspect parts using calipers, protractors, angle gauges, and height gauges
- Identify and correct springback or over-bend conditions
- Document and report non-conforming parts
- Optimize bend sequencing and tooling selection to improve quality and throughput
- Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on equipment
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of CNC press brake operation experience
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and sheet metal flat patterns
- Understanding of bend allowances, springback compensation, and material behavior
- Experience with offline programming software such as Amada VPSS, BySoft, or TruTops Bend (preferred)
- Knowledge of GD&T (preferred)
