Machine Operators Press & Kiln
Job Description
A large, established manufacturer in Laurens County is hiring Press Operators and Kiln Operators for 1st shift. These are temp to hire positions with a company known for great benefits and a steady Monday through Friday day schedule.
Press Operator: $15/hr
Kiln Operator: $16/hr
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
Placement: Temp to hire
What You'll Do: Press Operator
- Set up and run presses that form parts, following work instructions and specifications
- Load material into the press and make basic adjustments during production runs
- Check formed parts for correct size, shape, and appearance, and catch defects before they move on
- Take basic measurements and perform routine quality checks
- Keep production counts and paperwork accurate
- Help with changeovers, machine cleaning, and routine upkeep
What You'll Do: Kiln Operator
- Support daily kiln operations to hit production targets
- Check that kilns are running at the correct setpoints and push rates
- Review kiln logs for accuracy at shift change
- Confirm kiln fans are running and belts are in good condition
- Maintain kiln sand seals
- Pull unfired product from the drying room, then clean and trim it before firing
- Load and unload batch kilns and furnaces
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year machine operation experience, Kiln or Press experience highly preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and established procedures
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with machinery and hand tools
- Close attention to part quality and detail
- Consistent attendance and a commitment to safety procedures and PPE requirements
