Custom manufacturing company located in Duluth has an immediate opening for a Lead Fabricator.

Position is a direct hire and company offers great benefits and work environment!

7:00am-3:30pm Mon-Fri

$25-$35 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and follow production schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Verify measurements, markings, cuts, drilling, welding, fitting, alignment, and securing of parts to meet safety standards.
• Collaborate with production staff to maintain accuracy and quality on all manufactured products.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks in accordance with order specifications.
• Comprehend and utilize drawings, blueprints, and CAD to guide work.
• Apply appropriate welding methods to join metals effectively.
• Confirm finished work meets or surpasses required tolerances.
• Provide feedback to mechanical engineers by redlining and interpreting drawings and CAD.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks on time with exceptional quality.
• Operate various power equipment to fulfill job requirements.
• Interpret work orders, product schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Apply mathematical skills to mark, measure, cut, fit, and weld components.
• Engage in product development meetings.
• Verify dimensions and product specifications to ensure compliance.
• Uphold quality control standards.
• Troubleshoot and stress test products to minimize issues.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years fabrication experience
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and CAD viewer software
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and CAD viewers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with a diverse range of mechanical assembly and fabrication techniques
• Strong time management abilities and capability to multitask effectively.
• Understanding of mechanical assembly and function is a plus.
